Television - On TV
Tuesday, 03 August 2010 08:56

The newest music video from six time GRAMMY ® winner Amy Grant will be broadcast exclusively on GMC this Friday, July 30 at 8 p.m. ET.

In addition to the broadcast debut, there will be an encore airing of the music video on Sunday, August 1 at 1 p.m. ET preceding “A Song From the Heart,” a movie starring Grant. She will also be featured on the Top Spin 10 Countdown Show on Friday, July 30 at 12pm ET and Saturday, July 31 at 8am ET. A re-airing of Grant’s Faith & Fame will also add to the weekend full of coverage on the channel, airing at midnight ET on Friday, July 30. A promo video for the premiere is also currently available at www.watchgmctv.com.

The song “Better Than A Hallelujah” comes from Grant’s acclaimed March release titled Somewhere Down the Road. Grant’s first new, non-holiday music in seven years garnered praise from People magazine saying “this is a soothing set of inspirational pop, as the pure-voiced Grant exudes a simple warmth on tracks…” and Billboard magazine raving “…all the songs on this collection weave together into a beautiful musical tapestry—--each as warm, thoughtful and gently compelling as the woman singing them…. we are all better for Grant having shared this emotional road map.”

The video has already struck a chord with readers of Ladies’ Home Journal’s www.lhj.com. Below is just a sample of viewer feedback from the online debut of the music video on www.lhj.com...

“WOW…is all I can say! This video is the perfect accompaniment to this song. It eloquently depicts those situations in life where our mistakes, tragedies or regrets cannot be undone and we are left with our sad realities where only God can give us comfort. It brought me to tears.”

“Beautiful Song.  Beautiful Video.  Beautiful Artist”

“As always, Amy’s songs bring me healing right where I need it!”

The 2011 Dove Awards will be held in Atlanta's historic and fabulous Fox Theatre on April 20, 2011, GMA is working in conjunction with the city of Atlanta to host the broadcast, where its television partner, GMC is also headquartered.  Atlanta is the home of many of the industry's biggest names (Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Byron Cage, Bishop Paul Morton, Canton Jones, Dottie Peoples, Brian Free and Assurance and more).

"Georgia's music scene is vibrant, growing and full of history," said Kevin Langston, Deputy Commissioner for Tourism for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. "We are looking forward to playing host to the 2011 Dove Awards."

"We Atlantans are so happy to welcome the Dove Awards to Atlanta this year," remarked 16-time Dove Award winner and platinum selling artist Chris Tomlin. "How exciting to celebrate and share a night together honoring God in a city I have come to know and love."

In agreement with Tomlin, Bishop Paul S. Morton commented, "To the world, Atlanta is already known to be a home for diversity in music.  I am so excited that the GMA has chosen to bring the Dove Awards to our historic and beautiful city.  What better way to add to the broadening musical landscape of Gospel Music."
