Yancy continues to redefine youthful worship thanks to cutting-edge albums, DVDs, her recent devotional book and non-stop touring. This fall, Yancy will return to Christ In Youth’s successful preteen event SuperStart! to lead worship for the 2010-2011 national tour. SuperStart! is a weekend event designed specifically for preteens with the sole purpose of understanding them and connecting them to the Gospel of Christ. This is accomplished in a safe environment filled with high-energy worship, interactive teaching and small group discussions, all designed with the needs of preteens in mind.
“I’m so excited to be back out this year to lead worship at SuperStart! Each event is so fun and rewarding to be a part of,” says Yancy. “The preteen age is such an important time in a kid’s life as they solidify their roots in their faith and really start living it out. We were all created to worship and these students get that. I encourage pastors and leaders to bring your 4th, 5th or 6th grade students out. It will be a life changing weekend for sure!” 2010-2011 SuperStart! Tour Oct 8-9 - Florissant, MO Oct 22-23 - Grand Rapids, MI Nov 5-6 - Orlando, FL Nov 12-13 - Louisville, KY Jan 21-22 - Atlanta, GA Jan 28-29 - Dallas, TX Feb 4-5 - Indianapolis, IN Feb 18-19 - Tulsa, OK Mar 4-5 - Bloomington, IL Mar 11-12 - Cincinnati, OH

Geared toward pre-teens but effective for kids of all ages, the worship disc is designed for those that want to rock but love to worship.
A seasoned artist, worship leader and songwriter, Yancy has spent much of the last decade recording and touring, sharing the stage with the music industry's brightest stars, including Nichole Nordeman, MuteMath, Newsboys and others. She co-wrote "Something Beautiful" for Jaci Velasquez and Avalon's #1 hit, "I Don't Want to Go," and she's written two devotional books for worship leaders and musicians. Prior to moving to Nashville, Yancy also spent five years as a worship leader at Church on the Move, a megachurch in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Yancy maintains a full-time tour schedule including conferences and conventions throughout the USA, including the Kings & Princesses events alongside her father Jim Wideman.

Singer/songwriter Andrew Peterson has reached a career milestone, as his highest charting album to date happened this week. Counting Stars enters at #6 on Billboard’s Christian Albums Chart and strong early support last week led to the project debuting at #1 on iTunes Christian Albums Chart.
Media has embraced Counting Stars as Peterson’s best project to date with JesusFreakHideout.com saying, Counting Stars is another success for Andrew Peterson, and the last five songs prove the artist can stretch beyond his comfort zone. Blogcritics.org and Seattle Post-Intelligencer rave, Counting Stars is an all-embracing music any lover of Christian folk gospel and contemporary music would warm to. NewReleaseTuesday.com adds, Andrew Peterson has been described as “one of the most thoughtful, poetic and lyrical songwriters of his generation.” And nowhere is that accolade more evident (and deserving) than on his latest release. And the CD even made USA Today’s playlist when “Planting Trees” was listed in Brian Mansfield’s 10 intriguing tracks for the week of July 19th.
Peterson has long been an industry favorite with his thoughtful lyrics and warm vocals, which made Counting Stars immediately connect with listeners through the themes of family and relationships. “Dancing In The Minefields”, a heartwarming song about the beauty and trials of marriage, is the second single from the CD and goes for adds at radio September 3rd. The video, produced and directed by Grant Howard, has had more than 40,000 views in just three weeks and is already having a powerful impact on viewers.
“In December of 2009 my wife and I celebrated fifteen years of marriage,” explains Peterson. “Three days later, we got in a silly argument and I wrote this song after she went to bed. Marriage, see, was God’s idea. It’s one of the most potent metaphors in all of Scripture for the way God loves us and the way we’re to let ourselves be loved by Him. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. To the contrary, it’s fraught with peril. Any good marriage involves a thousand deaths to self—the good news is, a godly marriage involves at least as many resurrections. We lay our lives down and enter this perilous dance with another human being who has done the same. Why should we expect to emerge unscathed? The wounds bear testimony to the great power of grace. If I had had any idea what I was getting into fifteen years ago I wouldn’t have walked the aisle—I’d have run down it.“
Peterson is winding down from a two-week promotional trip in support of Counting Stars, which took him to twelve radio stations in several states and Peterson met with such outlets as KLTY/Dallas, TX; Moody/Chicago, IL; KXOJ/Tulsa, OK and KHZR/St. Louis, MO. Peterson has also made several media appearances recently on LeSea’s Broadcasting’s Harvest Show and taped Live From Studio B, TBN/1 Music Village, FOX 17/TN Mornings and upcoming interviews with Nashville’s TV outlets, WKRN-TV/ABC and WSMV-TV/Better Nashville. Additional coverage for Counting Stars includes Worship Leader Magazine (September issue), HJ Live! (July review), ChristianMusicToday.com (July review), StereoTruth.net (July review) and upcoming features with YouthWalk Magazine, Christian Manifesto and CornerStonefaith.com.
Upon Peterson’s return to Nashville on August 6, he will host Hutchmoot 2010, a three-day conference for lovers of story, art, and music, featuring acclaimed author Walt Wangerin, Jr. as the keynote speaker. The event, an extension of Peterson’s Rabbit Room community, sold out in three weeks. On the opening night, Peterson will perform a CD release concert in support of Counting Stars for the attendees.
Thousands
of stories from every state in the U.S. and 20 countries were the
source of motivation for Matthew West’s fourth Sparrow Record’s album, The Story of Your Life, set to release on Oct. 5.
In
follow-up to the GRAMMY ® nominee’s success with his hit single
“Motions” being atop the radio charts for a whopping 15 weeks and being
the most played artist at Christian radio last year, the well-known
singer/songwriter turned to his fans via web and radio for songwriting
material for his new album asking them to submit their stories of
restoration, celebration, pain, hope and more. One thousand responded
in the first two days alone, leading to the thousands that answered
from across the world. He then spent two months in a cabin outside of
Nashville, Tenn. reading every story and then transforming them into
songs for the record. The songs range from joyful stories about
adoption and victories over cancer, to heart-breaking letters of abuse
and broken homes.
“As
stories began to pour in by the thousands, I quickly sensed that not
only was something special taking place, but that my life was about to
change,” explains West. “During those months, my eyes were opened to
see the world outside my door like I had never witnessed before.”
West
serves as a trusted storyteller for the 11-track album which was
produced by the renowned Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, Steven Curtis
Chapman, Michael W. Smith) and Pete Kipley (MercyMe, David
Crowder*Band). For example, the song “Family Tree” tackles the issue of
generational baggage inspired by a girl’s story. From another letter
about the joys of adoption, West wrote the song “One Less.” “Broken
Girl” was taken from a submitted story of abuse.
The
first single, “My Own Little World,” which is at radio now and will hit
digital retailers on Aug. 17, is a powerful release as it sets the
stage for the remaining tracks. Already, the single is the most added
song at AC this week with 38 total stations playing the song, as well
as debuting at No. 28 on AC indicator and New & Active on the AC
Monitor chart. The single premiered exclusively on West’s facebook page
late last week where around 25,000 people listened to the song in only
24 hours. In regards to “My Own Little World,” West says, “I first
walked into the cabin with my own little world being ‘population me,’
but with each new story, God began to change all that. This is the song
that talks about how these thousands of stories opened my eyes and my
heart to see the world outside my door through the eyes of my savior,
through the eyes of compassion.”
West
will embark on “The Story of Your Life Tour” this fall with special
guests Jonny Diaz and Josh Wilson in partnership with Operation
Christmas Child.
GRAMMY
® Award nominated singer/songwriter Matthew West catapulted onto the
Christian music scene in 2003 with his debut single, “More,” the most
played Christian AC song of 2003. The multi-Dove Award nominee has
since released three critically-acclaimed recordings, Happy (2003), History (2005) and Something to Say (2008), while dominating radio as the most played Christian artist of 2003, 2008 and 2009, according to Radio & Records.
All of West’s singles have charted in the Top 10, including the
memorable hits “Only Grace,” “History,” “Next Thing You Know,” “You Are
Everything” and the GRAMMY ® nominated “The Motions.” ”The Motions”
was 2009’s most played song at Christian AC radio, and was No. 1 on Radio & Records’ Christian AC Monitored chart and the Billboard Christian chart for 14 weeks as well as the most downloaded Christian digital track 15 weeks running, according to SoundScan.
Last year, West was asked to pen the theme song for VeggieTales’ latest Christmas DVD release, Saint Nicholas – A Story Of Joyful Giving.
West recorded “Give This Christmas Away” with best-selling,
award-winning artist Amy Grant, who performed the radio single
alongside Matthew on Fox News programs “Huckabee” and “FOX &
Friends.” Known as both a singer and songwriter, West has penned hits
for artists such as Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus, Diamond Rio and
more. His new album The Story of Your Life releases October 5, 2010.

Irish worship leader and songwriter Kathryn Scott captures the hope and heartache of a life of faith and affirms We Still Believe with her latest Integrity Music album slated to release August 10.
Known for songs like "Hungry" and "At the Foot of the Cross," Scott says We Still Believe reflects the experiences and lessons she has felt God teaching her anew.
"If there's one thing I've learned over the last number of years, it's that life is hard but God is always good," says Scott, who with her husband Alan, pastors Causeway Coast Vineyard Church in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. "Every one of us has been touched by hardship. We still live in an imperfect world. And yet, our Father never changes. He is always present, always faithful, always able."
"My deepest prayer is that people who listen to this album will feel the presence of the King who changes everything," she adds. "I pray that there'll be healing for hearts that have become despondent and tired along the way, that the Spirit of the suffering servant will breathe new life into these hearts, reminding them that there really is strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow."
Produced by Brent Milligan (TobyMac, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith), We Still Believe was recorded live at the Redding, California-based Bethel Church, a faith community that has been an encouragement to the Scott's own ministry in Northern Ireland.
The album includes nine new songs, mostly penned by Scott, along with the Keith Green classic (written by Green's wife Melody) "There Is A Redeemer" and a bonus track of Scott's classic "Hungry." It also features a guest appearance by Scott's mentor and fellow Integrity artist Brian Doerksen. Additional information about the recording can be viewed below.
To make these songs more accessible to churches, Integrity created companion resources for the album including tracks, a songbook and a digital songbook, all of which will be available at the time of the CD's release.
In addition to serving at her home church in Coleraine, Scott makes time to lead worship and teach in the U.S. and U.K. This fall, she joins worship leaders Paul Baloche and Brian Doerkson with whom she will teach at five Seminars4Worship conferences in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. Raised in a ministry-oriented family, Scott holds a Theology degree from Elim Bible College in England. Her discography includes We Still Believe along with the critically-acclaimed albums Satisfy and I Belong. She is also featured on numerous best-selling collections including Hungry and Worship and Adore: A Christmas Offering. iTickets, the premier Christian ticketing solution and event source, and Faith Freaks, announced today their plans to form a strategic partnership.
“We’re excited about this relationship,” said Nick Fama, president of
Faith Freaks. “Our focus has been to reach out to youth on many levels.
Obviously music and concerts are a large part of their culture.
iTickets provides us an ongoing, up-to-date connection with the concert
scene.”
Starting immediately, iTickets will stream concerts and festivals to
individual Faith Freaks users, based on the users' geographic location.
Plans are under way to allow users to create their own preference
filters as well as to mark specific artists and tours as their
favorites.
“When I saw what Nick and Faith Freaks were doing to reach Christian
youth I knew we wanted to be a part of their outreach,” said Ed Novak
of iTickets and Christian Happenings. “Hearing how their online
counselors could reach out and help kids wrestling with everything from
relationships gone sour to suicidal tendencies reminded me how
important the message of Christ can be. Sometimes we get caught up in
the business of concerts and forget who we’re trying to help.”
This fall, iTickets and Faith Freaks are hoping to use real time
events, such as concerts, as an opportunity to reach a youth and bring
virtual friends together for real time experiences.
Israel Houghton highlights the greatest Gospel commandment with Love God. Love People. releasing August 31 on Integrity Music/Columbia Records. Featuring the musically masterful energy that has become synonymous with Israel Houghton recordings, the album also reveals special guest appearances by Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond and Take 6’s Claude V. McKnight, III, Mark Kibble and Joey Kibble, as well as song co-writes with Meleasa Houghton, Aaron Lindsey, Tommy Sims and Michael Gungor. Israel co-produced the new album with longtime collaborator Aaron Lindsey.
As a worship leader, singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Israel is also known for his work as a master collaborator, drawing out the best performances from all those around him. Having written or co-written 11 CCLI Top 500 favorites, creating a canon of songs that have become standards in houses of faith around the globe, Love God. Love People. follows Israel’s acclaimed GRAMMY Award winning and Billboard Top 200 hit, The Power Of One, and promises to be an inspiration to all who listen.
“Love God. Love People. is a return to a simple, foundational Gospel command: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself,” says Israel. “Virtually every song touches on this profound simplicity. It all comes down to ‘Love God, love people.’ Period.”
Love God. Love People. blends the musical genres of worship, rock, funk and power pop, and was recorded and engineered by Danny Duncan (India.Arie, Hillsong LIVE, Natalie Grant, CeCe Winans) at Abbey Road Studios in London.
“I was living out a dream come true recording at Abbey Road,” says Israel. “The ‘stomps’ on the famous staircase for ‘Name Of Love’ were just absolutely special and unforgettable. And I wept several times while The London Session Orchestra played ‘Others’ and ‘Hosanna.’ I later spoke to some of the string players who were crying while they played… absolute presence of God was captured!”
Other album highlights include Israel singing “Hosanna (Be Lifted Higher)” with Take 6’s Claude V. McKnight, III, Joey Kibble and Mark Kibble, who arranged the track. “Mercies” features the unmistakable voice of Kirk Franklin, while “Surprises” is augmented by the talent of Fred Hammond.
Special guest instrumentalists on the album include Akil Thompson (son of drum master Chester Thompson from Weather Report and Genesis) and Michael Gungor (who co-wrote “You Won’t Let Go” with Israel) on guitars. On drums are Dan Needham (Amy Grant, Vanessa Williams, Michael McDonald) and Teddy Campbell (Seal, Celine Dion, Smokie Norful). Co-producers Tommy Sims and Aaron Lindsey handle the bass and keyboards respectively. Backing vocals on select tracks are handled by Daniel Johnson, Erica King and Charlin Moore, all members of New Breed, a music ministry organization founded and led by Israel.
Israel Houghton is pictured standing on the top of the staircase at Abbey Road Studios directing the “stomps” heard in the song, “In The Name Of,” from Love God. Love People. Microphones were placed under the studio staircase to get the right "womp" sound for the song. Trying earlier to come up with the right sound by banging on some of the equipment cases, Israel, who was standing on the staircase, jumped on the stair to show the kind of sound he was looking for... and the production team decided, “Okay, that's it!” and recorded the sound.
The full Love God. Love People. track listing follows:
1. Love God Love People 2. Yahweh (The Lifter) 3. Love Rev 4. That’s Why I Love You 5. Others 6. You Hold My World 7. You Won’t Let Go 8. Our God 9. Mercies featuring Kirk Franklin 10. Surprises featuring Fred Hammond 11. Name Of Love 12. Hosanna (Be Lifted Higher)
