As we welcome the start of the baseball season and the heart of the NBA playoffs, the concept of the instant replay becomes extremely relevant. Often times, it’s the instant replay that decides a win or loss in a game. For all of the highlights in a particular game, it’s only certain plays that get the benefit of the instant replay. Several of those plays become the highlights that make their way to all of the sports reports and ultimately define the game.
Of all of the highlights in your life, the things that don’t deserve the benefit of an instant replay are your failures. Your enemy, who is the accuser of the brothers, got his title by finding all of your failures and shortcomings and replaying them repeatedly on the flat screen of your life. Know that your failures don’t deserve that privilege. God’s forgets your sins and shortcomings, throwing them into the sea of forgetfulness. So if He doesn’t replay them, why should you? Take your failures and learn from them. Allow them to be the springboard to your next chapter. After all, if you can leave the failure long enough, you’ll find that there IS another game and another chapter in your life. In this one, you WIN!! So remind the enemy of your life that you and God are keeping score as well and on your scorecards, you ALWAYS win!! Now make THAT the instant replay of your life.
