In this season, so many are looking for answers where there seem to be none. While one would believe that the church should be immune to the issues currently plaguing society, many believers are being impacted by the issues of life. Be it a faulty economy, job insecurity, or relational issues, believers seem to be as impacted as everyone else. Some might make the argument like Job’s friends did, that life’s issues are the results of someone’s sin. I submit that your current situation may not be the result of sin as much as it is an opportunity that’s been created for you to flex your faith.
When Jesus prayed for Peter in Luke 22:32, He prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail. For his faith not to fail, it must have been tested and put in a position where it was possible for his faith to fail. Understand this. You must be put in a situation where your faith needs to be tested. Strength does not come unless there is resistance. Enter our current situations. A failed economy, marital issues, job instability, and life’s issues are the ideal breeding ground for resistance and for faith to be utilized. You have the choice to look at your situations and submit to their power or to flex your faith in the face of life’s issues. When you exercise your faith against the resistance daily situations, your faith will grow and your inner man will be strengthened. Conversely, your problems will lose steam and will quickly become miniscule in your eyes. Change your perspective. Don’t glorify your problems and obstacles. Instead, understand that God allowed them so that you can flex your faith. Now, hop to it and walk in faith.
