Although praise and worship happens in churches all over
the world, few are aware of what the Bible actually says about it. Dr.
Cheryl Wilson-Bridges, Minister of Music at the Community Praise Center in
Alexandria, VA, removes the mystique surrounding praise and worship and delves
into the Scripture in her new book to answer three very important questions: 1)
What does God desire? 2) What does God require and 3) How should we
aspire? Levite Praise: God’s Biblical Design for Praise and Worship, published
by Creation House, a Strang Communications Company, views praise and worship
from a uniquely biblical perspective and hits bookstores and online retailers
on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Dr.
Wilson-Bridges has received a Master of Arts in Practical Theology and Worship
and a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University. Originally penned for her terminal degree, Levite Praise is a necessary resource for
pastors, worship leaders, choir directors and lovers of praise and
worship. Wilson-Bridges says, “When readers take the time to dig deep and digest the
principles and premises in each chapter of Levite
Praise, I believe they will find knowledge unfolding that will enrich
personal and corporate worship experiences.”
Bruce E. Winston, PhD, Dean
of Regent University’s School of Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship says,
“Dr. Wilson-Bridges’ latest book on praise leadership is a must read for
leaders everywhere. Although her focus is on praise in the church her
thought-provoking insight into leadership principles and her artful integration
of leadership concepts from contemporary writers is informative to all
leaders.”
Dr.
Wilson-Bridges’ gift of singing was nurtured in the Seventh-day Adventist
church and school systems. Her path to
music ministry began in 1985 as a tenor with the female contemporary gospel
group, Reconciled. This experience allowed her to minister to thousands and
witness first hand that music is a powerful tool of worship and evangelism.
Currently she serves as presiding pastor and ordained elder at her home church. She has conducted worship seminars worldwide
including Boston, Atlanta, and London and just garnered the 2009 Outstanding
Minister of Music Award by the Guild of Adventist Musicians.
